Printing production process packaging

Printing is divided into three stages:

Pre-press → refers to the work before printing, generally referring to photography,, production, typesetting, film output, etc.;

Mid-press → refers to the work in the middle of printing, the process of printing the finished product through printing machine;

Post-press → refers to the work after printing, generally referring to the post-processing of printed matter including lamination, UV coating, oiling, cutting, hot stamping, embossing, pasting, etc., which is mostly used for packaging printing.

Printing is a technology that reproduces the graphic of the original manuscript. Its main feature is that it can reproduce the graphic information of the original manuscript on a variety of printing substrates in large quantities and economically. It can be said the finished product can also be widely disseminated and preserved, which is something that other copying technologies such as film, television, and photography cannot compare with.

The production of matter generally goes through five processes: selection or design of the original manuscript, original plate making, plate making, printing, and post-press processing. That is to say, first or design the original manuscript suitable for printing, then process the graphic information of the original manuscript, make the original plate for plate making or engraving (usually called positive or negative), then make the printing plate for printing from the original plate, install the printing plate on the printing machine, and use the ink delivery system to apply ink to the surface of printing plate. By pressure, the ink is transferred from the printing plate to the printing substrate, and the large number of copies of the printing plate, after post-press processing, finished products suitable for various purposes of use. Nowadays, people often refer to the design of the original manuscript, the processing of graphic information, and the making of plates as prepress processing, and the process of transferring the ink on the printing plate to the printing substrate as printing, so the completion of a printed matter needs to go through pre-press processing printing, and post-press processing.
